CSR commitments

Each of Rémy Cointreau’s products is an expression of a terroir – a unique soil, a microclimate and a specific biodiversity.

The Group is committed to preserving these fragile ecosystems and handing on our expertise, built over generations.

Land has always been profoundly influenced by the climate. With global warming, Rémy Cointreau is facing a new challenge: adapting to the growing threat from more extreme weather and changing seasonal patterns. That is why the Group is taking steps, on its estates and with its partners, to introduce agroecological practices and develop resistant varieties in order to protect its raw materials and promote more sustainable agriculture and viticulture practices. This is the ambition of its “New Generation Terroirs” initiative.

COINTREAU DECARBONIZES ITS NEUTRAL ALCOHOL PRODUCTION THROUGH LEGUMINOUS PLANTS SOURCING
#CLIMATE

In 2026, Maison Cointreau reached a decisive milestone in reducing its carbon footprint. The first tank of pea-based neutral alcohol was delivered and used in February 2026, before a gradual start of bottling operations beginning in March.
At the heart of this industrial innovation: the valorization of of leguminous plants, crops recognized for their agronomic and environmental benefits. Capable of naturally fixing atmospheric nitrogen, they limit the use of synthetic fertilizers and improve soil fertility. Their high starch content enables, after processing, the production of neutral alcohol.
The integration of this low-carbon alcohol represents a major lever for reducing the Maison’s overall carbon footprint. Moreover, this approach also supports the development of sustainable agricultural sectors, with nearly 3,000 hectares of legumes cultivated in the Centre-Val de Loire region in France and contributes to maximizing the use of all parts of the plant in a circular approach.
Rémy Cointreau thus confirms its ability to combine innovation, industrial performance, and environmental responsibility.

A WATER CONSERVATION PLAN FOR COGNAC
#WATER

The Cognac site is located in an area of high vulnerability to water stress during the summer, having already been subject to usage restrictions. This is why this site is a priority for the Group’s responsible water management policy. The objective is twofold: reduce its water withdrawals and plan the water resource sharing approach, taking into account other stakeholders who depend on it locally.
In accordance with local regulations, Rémy Martin is actively committed to reducing its water consumption at its sites, particularly at the product development center, which is classified as an upper-tier Seveso site (meaning an industrial site where large quantities of dangerous substances are held) and whose water consumption exceeds 10,000 m³ per year.

In 2025-2026, several actions were therefore initiated:

  • Analysis of water consumption by taking readings before and after the weekend, enabling the detection and repair of any leaks, and the implementation of weekly monitoring to detect abnormal consumption and intervene as early as possible when necessary.
  • Closure of the water supply to the fire ponds at the product development center and the packaging unit, and an increase in the maximum level of the ponds, ensuring a sufficient minimum level for fire protection of the sites by the end of summer.
  • Dual use of runoff water (surface water).
  • Collaboration with BWT, a company specializing in reverse osmosis, to optimize the performance of the osmosis system in purifying water used as an ingredient in cognac production.
  • Rainwater harvesting for irrigation of the Cognac site.

THE BRUICHLADDICH DISTILLERY WORKS TO PRESERVE LOCAL BIODIVERSITY WITH THE BOTANIST FOUNDATION
#BIODIVERSITY

Since 2005, through The Botanist Foundation, the Bruichladdich distillery has been working with the Islay community to better understand and preserve biodiversity. Numerous actions have been carried out over recent years:

  • Funding of biodiversity-related scholarships for young islanders.
  • Study of local biodiversity.
  • Development of a sensory garden at the local high school.
  • Mapping of the island’s invasive species.
  • Ongoing support of Botanic Gardens Conservation International, a British organization committed to preserving botanical diversity.
  • Monitoring of Marsh Fritillary butterfly populations since 2021 (for a 10-year period).
  • More recently in 2025, a study of the genetic diversity of local juniper populations and monitoring of leech populations were implemented.

RÉMY COINTREAU HAS JOINED A COALITION FOR BOTTLE REUSE IN FRANCE
#CIRCULARITY

To amplify its progress on reuse, Rémy Cointreau has partnered with several other wine & spirits groups to test the implementation of collection, sorting, and cleaning channels to enable the reuse of bottles in France. This coalition is supported by two major players: Circul’R, a reuse consulting company, and Eco In Pack, a bottle washing company specializing in spirits. Its purpose is to test the technical and economic viability of reuse in the on-trade channels (cafés, hotels and restaurants) and in off-trade (medium and large retail stores).
After a first stage of selecting operational partners last year, the coalition defined the pilot launch framework for the on-trade and off-trade markets, enabling the launch in March 2026 in a selection of bars in the Paris region and in several Carrefour stores in France, before a more substantial rollout over the coming year.

Rémy Cointreau is a community is community of women and men united by shared values: excellence in know-how, respect, and sustainable practices.

Sustainable transformation is a collective effort. To go full speed ahead, the respect and dedication of every member of the Group’s community are of paramount importance, as is the support given to partners – from supplier farmers and bartenders to glassmakers and distributors, in all markets.

The sharing and transmission of heritage, whether intangible – through the Group’s values – or tangible – through its support and expertise – are deeply rooted in the spirit of Rémy Cointreau.

Rémy Cointreau’s teams also encourage all consumers to a responsible consumption of its exceptional products, through its “R.E.S.P.E.C.T.” ritual. The Group also innovates and works on products and recipes with reduced alcohol content.

    In 2025-2026 :

    • 84%of strategic suppliers have a transparent, verified and auditable CSR process in place
    • 11%staff turnover (permanent goal <17%)
    • 50%of women in Top management – Executive Committee
    • 44%of women in managerial positions

RÉMY COINTREAU CONTINUES ITS COMMITMENT TO RESPONSIBLE DRINKING
    #CONSUMPTION

Rémy Cointreau actively contributed to the “Take Time to Breathe” campaign of the “Prévention et Modération” association in 2025, to democratize breathalyzer testing. Innovative “Fline Box” breathalyzer stations were deployed in bars in the South of France, as well as in Paris, Lille, and Rennes. In Angers, pilot tests were also carried out with the provision of a “Fline Box” on the Carré Cointreau tour circuit. These devices enabled alcohol testing and relayed prevention messages from the “R.E.S.P.E.C.T” ritual. Ultimately, a larger-scale deployment is envisioned.
Furthermore, through digital labeling (e-label via QR code), progressively implemented by the different Maisons, Rémy Cointreau continues its commitment to transparency for consumers. The digital label details the list of ingredients, provides complete nutritional details, informs about “Alcohol and Health” risks, and presents the “R.E.S.P.E.C.T” ritual. The Group is committed to deploying this digital labeling on all its products within the European Union by 2027.

Since 2021, the Bruichladdich distillery in Scotland has been certified Great Place To Work®, a reliable and globally recognized certification based on authentic employee experiences.
Each year, a survey is conducted among all distillery employees to measure indicators such as respect, fairness, equality, and pride. This collective data, along with a questionnaire about the organization and its culture, is independently analyzed by Great Place To Work® and compared to specific benchmarks to determine certification.
    The 2025 survey showed that:

    • 83% of employees are proud to say they work for the Bruichladdich distillery.
    • 93% feel aligned with how the company contributes to the community.
    • 83% believe they can be themselves at work.

STRENGTHENING SAFETY CULTURE AT THE ANGERS SITE
    #HEALTH & SAFETY

In 2023, facing an increase in accidents confirmed by an assessment “Scan Safe”, conducted by IDQUATION, Rémy Cointreau committed to implementing concrete prevention actions.
Building on existing initiatives, the project aims to deepen the culture of safety vigilance and ensure a consistent safety approach across all departments to sustainably maintain health and safety performance. It is based on two major pillars:

    • The deployment of training focused on behavioral safety for all employees in the form of three successive progressive Play Safe workshops of half a day each (one workshop per year) facilitated by IDQUATION, with a goal of progressively integrating key concepts into existing safety tools;
    • The gradual deployment of “field safety meeting” to ensure individual risk awareness and thus collectively strengthen safety vigilance.

ASSESSMENT AND MITIGATION OF SUPPLIER RISKS
    #RESPONSIBLE PROCUREMENT

To integrate sustainability into its purchasing practices, the Group has implemented a supplier risk management framework:
1/ Via the Sedex platform, teams analyze the risks of Tier 1 suppliers, both exogenous (country, sector) and endogenous (production site).
2/ A multidimensional risk analysis is also conducted. It is based on sector data and international frameworks, particularly the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and combines supplier self-declarations and external audits.

    The areas analyzed include:

    • Labor standards (human rights, working conditions);
    • Ethical practices and anti-corruption;
    • Compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards;
    • Protection of worker health and safety.

This proactive and structured approach enables us to build a more transparent, ethical, and resilient supply chain, essential to the Group’s overall performance and true to its values.

Rémy Cointreau believes that crafting exceptional spirits and champagne requires exemplarity, honesty and transparency.

The Group is committed to implementing and promoting more sustainable and ethical practices across its value chain, working with employees, suppliers, and consumers. The Group’s governance ensures its CSR strategy is integrated, effective, and consistently implemented at all company levels and across all markets where it operates.

FRAMEWORK FOR LOBBYING PRACTICES TO ALIGN
      COMPLIANCE AND RESPONSIBILITY

      #RESPONSIBLE LOBBYING

Since 2023, the lobbying activities of the Rémy Cointreau group have been regulated by a dedicated policy for all employees who may be involved. This policy complements the Code of Conduct, in compliance with laws relating to anti-corruption and influence peddling.
To go further in terms of responsible lobbying, the lobbying policy was expanded in 2026 to take into account the Group’s CSR commitments.
The public affairs actions of the Rémy Cointreau group are also subject to the transparency standards of France and the European Union – registration in the European Union Transparency Register and annual declaration of lobbying activities to the French High Authority for Transparency in Public Life (HATVP).
Finally, the Legal and Ethics Departments provide dedicated training to interest representatives on competition law and anti-corruption.

STRENGTHENING RESILIENCE AND VIGILANCE IN CYBERSECURITY
      #CYBERSECURITY

In 2025, the Group’s cybersecurity approach was strengthened through technical improvements, increased awareness, and consolidated governance. These efforts are part of a context of growing threats, particularly the use of artificial intelligence by cybercriminals to diversify and automate their attacks.
The effectiveness of these measures was confirmed during an on-site penetration test.
Employee awareness, a pillar of Rémy Cointreau’s cybersecurity strategy, has also demonstrated its effectiveness.
The quality of the Group’s approach was further recognized in 2025, with the Bruichladdich distillery receiving a cyber-resilience award at the CeeD Industry Awards 2025 in Glasgow, in recognition of the local implementation of Rémy Cointreau’s policy.

IN THE EUROPEAN MARKET, TRANSPARENCY AS
      A REQUIREMENT FOR ACCOUNTABILITY

      #TRANSPARENCY

Since 2019, Rémy Cointreau has been a signatory to spiritsEUROPE’s memorandum of understanding with the European Commission. This memorandum commits the spirits sector to providing energy value information on the labels of products marketed in Europe, as well as the complete list of ingredients with detailed nutritional values in digital format, through dematerialized labeling (e-label). The information adapts to the language and regulatory specificities of each country where the label is scanned.
This voluntary commitment demonstrates a desire for ambitious self-regulation, going beyond existing legislative obligations. Rémy Cointreau has thus developed its own digital labeling system with its partner ScanTrust, to provide consumers with additional information, including recommendations for responsible consumption and information on packaging composition or recycling.
The Group is fast-tracking the deployment of these systems at the European level: approximately 50% of volumes marketed are already compliant with the spiritsEUROPE memorandum, with a goal of reaching 100% of standard references in Europe by 2027.
